Vivid and successful research is based on creativity and strong and
respectful cooperation among different disciplines and persons. In our
lab and in collaboration with our various partners from academia and
the industry we follow this approach to successfully bring the initial
idea to a successful result.
Our research approach combines:
- Material development and optimization
(e.g., nanoparticles, quantum dots, lanthanides, dyes)
- Controlled bioconjugation (e.g., antibodies, peptides, proteins,
nucleic acids)
- Biological and photophysical characterization (e.g.,
biofunctionality, optical spectroscopy and microscopy)
- Integration into biological systems (e.g., immunoassays, nucleic
acid sensors, cellular analysis)
- Optimization for real-life biosensing (e.g., clinical diagnostics,
nanomedicine)
